One of our favorite places in Hua Hin is the Plern Warn market. It’s an eco vintage village-themed market where you find all kinds of cute souvenirs, and most of all: desserts and food from long-gone days. Among them also these handmade lollipops.
Long before multinational food-corporations entered the Thai market, schoolchildren satisfied their need for sweet with snacks like these wonderful lollipops.
Each one is unique, each one is colorful, and each one makes you feel wonderful – just like a real lollipop should.
Thai people are very fond of everything vintage, and when you travel through Thailand you’ll find plenty of people like this young man who still value and take joy in doing things old-style.
The good old days are long gone, but even today’s good times can have some nostalgic joy sprinkled in every once in a while, don’t you think? 🙂
